Voters reject incorporation for Silverdale

Voters were saying "no" to cityhood for Silverdale in the first vote count in Tuesday night's special election.

The incorporation proposal was falling with nearly 70 percent of the vote against the measure.

In the first tally, 2,718 voters cast ballots against incorporation, while 30 percent, or 1,173 voters, cast ballots for cityhood.

According to the Kitsap County, 3,891 ballots have been counted so far in the Feb. 12 special election.
