John Clifford Patterson died March 21, 2008. The Silverdale resident was 57.

Mr. Patterson was born on Dec. 7, 1950 in Bremerton to Carl and Julia Patterson.

He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1969 and later went on to serve in the Army from 1972 to 1974 and the Army Reserves.

He served in Desert Storm in 1990 and 1991.

He married Brenda Marie Wilson on Feb. 14, 1993 in Seattle.

He worked as a machinist for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and as a seaman for the Washington State Ferries.

He volunteered at Central Kitsap Food Bank, Boy Scouts of Silverdale, Fire Department #15 (Kitsap County) and was a member of the Silverdale Lions. He liked working on cars and enjoyed life.

Mr. Patterson is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Brenda; sisters Carla (Wade) Larson and Helen Patterson; brother Art (Kathy) Patterson; nieces and nephews Julian, Carlee, Christina and James. He also is survived by special friends Esther (Boogie) Hankerson, Bill Carson, Mike Kelner, Colleen Kennedy and a host of family and friends from the Washington State Ferries and the community.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Central Kitsap Food Bank.
