Bremerton's Downey, Federal Way's Lynn wed in Seattle

Brent Lawrence Downey of Bremerton and Shelly Lynn Rand of Federal Way were married June 20, 2008 in Seattle at Shilshole Bay Beach Club. A reception followed the outdoor ceremony on the shores of Puget Sound. The Reverend Michael Cailao officiated.

The maid of honor was Hope Gordon. Ryan Downey, the groom’s brother, was the best man.

The groom is the son of Lawrence and Idena Downey of Bremerton. He is a 1999 graduate of Olympic High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Washington in 2003. He is an executive with Amazon in Seattle.

His wife is the daughter of Roger and Karen Rand of Federal Way. She is a 2002 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Federal Way. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Washington State University in 2006. She is a third-grade teacher at Valhalla Elementary School in Federal Way.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Vancouver, BC and at Disneyland. They are making their first home in Seattle.
