2009 Honorees

This year, 16 women are being honored as Women of Achievement by YWCA of Kitsap County at Tuesday’s fund-raising luncheon at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside. Those women are Joan Hanten, executive director, Olympic College Foundation; Dale Russell, volunteer rescue coordinator, Kitsap Humane Society; Marsha Masters, president, Mothers Against Drunk Driving; Katureh Edmond, student, Bremerton High School; Barbara Malich, chief executive officer, Peninsula Community Health Services; Anita Williams, community volunteer, Kitsap Historical Society; Lori Orberlander, executive director, Kitsap County Habitat for Humanity; Julie Poston, owner, Rejuv Massage and Spa; Deborah Hill, co-owner, Hill Moving and Storage; Marilyn Gordon, project coordinator, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; Karen Vargas, mentor, Bainbridge Island High School; Clarissa Ingwaldson, student, North Mason High School; Martitha May, chair, Immigrant Assistance Program; Estela Lopez, owner, Talpita Hispanic Store; Katha Miller-Winder, chair, Conservation and Outreach Committee; and Carissa Daniels, senior advocate trainer, Domestic Violence Healing Coalition.
