A support group for mothers of eating disordered adolescents and young adults will have its first meeting at 6:45 p.m. on Monday at the New Motion Physical Therapy conference room, located at 9419 Coppertop Loop in Bainbridge Island. It is the first in a series of four sessions that will be held every two weeks.

Janie Rose Burke, a licensed therapist specializing in eating disorders, will host a small group for moms, offering support and guidance through the eating disorder recovery process. Participants will learn and discuss the nature of eating disorders; effective resources for care; what the mother’s role in the recovery is; and how to care for oneself while caring for others.

The cost of the series is $200, payable in full at the first session. Contact Janie Rose Burke, family systems therapist and eating disorders specialist at 206-713-2771 or janieburkemft@gmail.com for more information or to reserve a place in the group.
