Hoping to skate through February

A short-sleeved Bryan Lejeck, 16, defies gravity at the skate park at the Silverdale Rotary Gateway Park on Tuesday. Bremerton has just emerged from its third-warmest January on record, with an average of 44.4 degrees Fahrenheit, said Johnny Burg at the National Weather Service in Seattle. The warmest January was in 2003, with a 45-degree average. National Weather Service meteorologists are predicting a warmer- and drier-than-usual February.
