Hansville tree service worker dies after fall in Bremerton

A Hansville man died from injuries from a fall in Bremerton Wednesday morning while working with a Poulsbo tree service company.
Aaron Bjorn Waag, 28, fell at least 70 feet from a boom crane hook onto a concrete walkway at a property off Rocky Point Road NW, according to a statement from the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office. His fall was reported at 10:30 a.m.

Robert Gelder of Brownsville succeeded Steve Bauer on the Kitsap Board of County Commissioners .
Commissioners Josh Brown and Charlotte Garrido chose Gelder Monday morning, according to a statement from the county . Gelder took the oath of office 6:30 p.m. in Port Orchard, before the regular County Commission meeting.

A sailor assigned to the Naval Base Kitsap Security Detachment was killed in Afghanistan last week. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Sean Edward Brazas, 26, of Greensboro, N.C., had been in the theater for less than one month.
