Kitsap student athletes having an impact at state
May 29 2009, 4:05 PM TACOMA — Halfway through the state Class 2A, 3A and 4A track and field championships, a handful of Kitsap athletes are still in the mix.

North Kitsap’s Siara Byers snuck into the girls’ 3A 100-meter dash finals Friday morning with a qualifying time of 12.63 seconds. Byers and her Viking teammates will run in a 4x100-meter relay qualifying round Friday evening.

Kingston’s Ruby Roberts qualified for the Class 2A 1,600-meter finals Thursday and the 800-meter run Friday. Roberts will compete in both events’ finals Saturday.
