A deputy watched a white BMW turn out of the East Bremerton Safeway parking lot onto State Highway 303 and travel northbound in southbound lanes of traffic at about 10 p.m. April 2. He stopped the car and the 16-year-old Poulsbo driver did not have a driver’s license.

A young family of four was displaced from their Levin Road home in Poulsbo shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5. Neighbors spotted flames coming from the home and called 911.

A deputy responded to a report of a verbal dispute and possible assault at Best Buy in Silverdale at about 8 p.m. April 4. The store manager said the problem started when one of his employees was contacted by a customer needing some assistance. The employee called for a store associate to assist the customer but after a few minutes the customer began swearing at him, demanding service. The store manager asked him to step outside.

WSB Financial Group recently reported that Westsound Bank, its sole operating subsidiary, has signed an agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Washington Department of Finance to enter into a cease and desist order which primarily addresses the bank’s past lending practices and the company is implementing a comprehensive plan to achieve full compliance.

The Central Kitsap Babe Ruth baseball league still needs coaches for the upcoming 2008 season. Coaches are needed in the senior division (ages 16-18). Coaching requires three evenings per week from now through the beginning of June. Senior sign-ups take place Wednesday, April 9, and Monday, April 14, in the Central Kitsap Junior High cafeteria. Players must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Cost is $175.
