County commissioner rescued during 'hostage' training exercise | Video

SILVERDALE — Kitsap County Commissioner Ed Wolfe was taken hostage during a training exercise at the Billie Eder Community Center May 27. Fortunately for Wolfe, law enforcement officers were able to rescue him.

Chase Bank robber takes off with undisclosed sum at Fred Meyer

A man described as wearing a gray hoodie and a Mariners cap reportedly has held up the Chase Bank branch in the Fred Meyer store on Sedgwick and Bethel roads. The robbery happened around 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28. The suspect reportedly ran off with a large sum of money. Port Orchard Police are searching the wooded areas near the store for the man.

Sesame Street, USO keep it real for military families

Area students of color encouraged to persevere in education

The summit saw more than 70 male students of color from nearby high schools visit OC in an effort to expose them to the college environment and encourage them to continue their education past high school.
