Teen who made threats found with gun

A 16-year-old boy suspected of threatening other youths at a park over a cell phone Aug. 9 was arrested for possessing a firearm.

Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies were called to scene near the intersection of Fairgrounds Road NW and Stampede Blvd. NW at about 12:23 a.m. when parents reported the threats, according to documents.

Deputies detained five teens. One of the youths, the 16-year-old from East Bremerton, was found with a .380 caliber handgun with the magazine inserted, according to reports.

In addition to the gun, marijuana and prescription painkillers were confiscated.

The other youths were released to their parents. The 16-year-old was booked into Kitsap juvenile detention for investigation of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
