Two Bremerton men were arrested hours after the Sept. 24 robbery of the Wheaton Way Key Bank.

At about 3:30 p.m., police responded to the East Bremerton Key Bank after a 21-year-old man demanded an undisclosed amount of cash from a bank teller and fled with the money, according to a Bremerton Police news release. There were customers in the bank, but no one was injured.

Bremerton Police detectives tracked down the 21-year-old his 23-year-old accomplice in a taxi cab at 13th Street and Broadway Avenue in Bremerton. Both were arrested on unrelated charges. The 21-year-old was identified as the bank robbery suspect based on surveillance images and was in possession of the stolen cash. Detectives recovered a "large sum" of the stolen money.

The 21-year-old was arrested at 9 p.m. and booked into Kitsap County jail for first-degree robbery, money laundering and possession of marijuana. The 23-year-old was arrested at 1 a.m. Sept. 25 and booked into Kitsap County jail for first-degree robbery and money laundering. Bail for both was set at $500,000.
