The state Department of Natural Resources will present information on a county request for 315 acres bordering Newberry Hill Park Oct. 19.

The county proposal would use the state forest land to create a public park. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Klahowya Secondary School, 7607 NW Newberry Hill Rd, Silverdale.

If the department determines that the request is consistent with the state’s outdoor recreation plan, it will be presented to the state Board of Natural Resources.
