Brown expands lead over Burlingame, library levy makes up some ground

Democratic County Commissioner Josh Brown increased his lead to 6.6 percent over rival Republican Abby Burlingame, according to unofficial results released Thursday.

Brown now leads Burlingame 53.24 percent to 46.48 percent or 38,478 votes to 33,666 votes of a total of 72,278 votes.

There are about 29,000 ballots left to count, according tothe Kitsap County Auditor's Office.

The Kitsap Regional Library's levy lift is trailing 57.14 percent to 42.86 percent, with a margin of 14.28 percent. Library officials conceded the election shortly after the first results were released Tuesday.
