Kitsap bears brunt of power outages, 50,000 without power
November 23, 2010 · 10:50 AM
Of the 60,000 Puget Sound Energy customers without power, about 50,000 are in Kitsap.
Abigail Elliot, spokeswoman for the power company, said 40 crews were working to restore power through the night, with 16 more crews reporting to the area from out of state.
Work crews have been hampered by icy conditions, with some down lines out of reach because of hazardous roads.
Elliot said officials do not have an estimate when power will be restored.
