A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested in East Bremerton Jan. 3 for investigation of an armed robbery behind Chip’s Casino with an air gun.
Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1500 block of Northeast Riddell Road at 6:54 p.m. to meet a man who reportedly was robbed of his wallet at gunpoint, according to reports from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. The 39-year-old man from Federal Way told police he was warming up his car outside Extreme Car Audio when a man asked him for a cigarette, then demanded his wallet at gunpoint. The wallet contained $80 and credit cards. The suspect ran north through the parking lot.
A tracking dog found the 19-year-old and 17-year-old in a field north of the robbery site. The 17-year-old boy initially ran from deputies, but stopped after multiple threats to send the dog after him. The 19-year-old had the 39-year-old man’s wallet in his pants pocket and the 17-year-old had a receipt and card containing the victim’s name in his pocket. A BB gun was found in the area from where the 17-year-old ran.
The 17-year-old and 19-year-old were booked into Kitsap County jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.
