Father caught shoplifting tools in Silverdale
February 25, 2011 · Updated 2:41 PM
A 31-year-old man visiting a Silverdale hardware store with his girlfriend and three children Feb. 11 was arrested after trying to steal a $119 tool.
The man, from South Kitsap, was also booked into the Kitsap County jail for investigation of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies were called to Lowe’s Home Improvement at 2221 NW Myhre Road after a customer saw the man leave the store with a Rockwell 20-piece SoniCrafter Project Kit, according to reports.
Deputies found the man, who said he stole the tools to sell, because, “he had four kids to take care of and needed the money,” the report said.
His girlfriend told deputies she did not know he had stolen the tool.
