About 20 homes were struck by a vehicle in the Ridgetop neighborhood of Silverdale in the early morning March 18, with damage to their garage doors and, in many cases, the vehicles inside the garages.

Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies were called to a malicious mischief incident in the 12100 block of Presscott Place Northwest at 5:13 a.m., according to reports from the sheriff’s office. Deputies found damage to two of the three garage doors of the residence that looked like a car had rammed into the doors. The 1995 Mercedes inside the garage was also damaged. A search of the surrounding area, including Prescott Place Northwest, Ravena Place Northwest, Crossridge Avenue Northwest and Plateau Circle Northwest, yielded about 20 homes with similar damage to their garage doors and vehicles. Several residents reported hearing a bang at about 3 a.m. and a vehicle with a loud exhaust pipe.

Deputies suspected the damage was caused by a drunken driver caught in the area consistent with the time of the incidents. The measurements of the driver’s car were consistent with the damage found at the homes. The driver admitted he may have caused the damage and said he had several drinks that night, got lost driving and may have blacked out on the road.
