East Bremerton man crushed by car while making repairs

A 20-year-old East Bremerton man died Sunday afternoon when a vehicle he was repairing fell off of its support device and fell on him, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office reported.

A preliminary investigation by the office found the Honda Accord the man was repairing slipped off a scissor jack used to lift the car up.

The man was discovered by his girlfriend in the 3100 block of Aegean Blvd. NE, and a neighbor rushed over with a second jack to raise the Honda Accord off the man. Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue were dispatched at 4:14 p.m. and arrived on scene at 4:20 p.m. The man was declared dead at the scene.

Deputy Scott Wilson, a spokesman for the office, said Monday that an autopsy is scheduled.
