An 18-year-old Silverdale woman was taken to Harrison Medical Center March 27 after veering off Belfair Valley Road while drunk.

The woman was traveling west on Belfair Valley Road one mile west of Bremerton in her Mazda when she left the roadway to her right, struck mailboxes and signs, then crossed the road and landed in a yard on the other side of the street, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was charged with driving under the influence and failure to wear a seatbelt.
