A 40-year-old Bremerton woman reported to police April 13 that she found a pistol buried in the sand on the beach at the end of E. 16th Street near Parkside Drive in Bremerton.
The woman was walking on the beach when she saw something in the sand and uncovered a pistol in a black holster crusted with sand and rocks, according to the report. It was a .22 caliber Ruger.
After police ran the pistol’s serial number, it did not return as stolen property. The woman told police she wanted to keep the gun if possible.
