Washington State Ferries’ peak season begins Sunday, May 1, with an additional 25 percent surcharge applied to full fare vehicle tickets, according to a statement.

The surcharge does not affect passenger fares or frequent user multi-ride fares.

The system-wide ending date for the peak season is Sept. 30. Previously it ended the second Saturday in October.
