A 27-year-old Port Orchard student choked a 20-year-old Bremerton student at Olympic College in Bremerton for keeping their shared shop space messy May 4.

The 27-year-old entered the classroom and walked up to the 20-year-old, whom he had never met before, and began choking him at 9:12 a.m. He had left a note the day before with profane language on the table for the 20-year-old telling him to keep the welding area that they share clean. Two other students in the room at the time ran over and got the 27-year-old off of the 20-year-old.

The suspect initially fled the scene and went to his corrections officer on campus. He admitted to shoving the 20-year-old but said he was not in the room long enough to choke him. He said he was going to confront the other student about the note he left but when he went up to him, the 20-year-old put his hand up and that was when he grabbed his arm. The 27-year-old was arrested for second-degree assault and booked to Kitsap County jail.
