Man sinks boat while tossing beers

A 29-year-old Central Kitsap man whose boat sank in Wildcat Lake June 30 while a passenger and passengers of another boat were attempting to toss bottles of beer to each other was arrested for drunken boating.
A Kitsap County sheriff’s deputy was called to the lake after a 66-year-old man reported the sinking boat. No one was injured.
The 29-year-old told the deputy he attempted a sharp turn and took on water, sinking the boat. The man and the passenger swam to the other boat.
The sunken boat was a 12-foot 1969 aluminum Starcraft with an 18 horsepower motor valued at about $500.
The driver of the boat was found to have a blood alcohol content of .131. He did not have a valid boater education card, required of boat drivers under the age of 35. He was later cited for drunken boating and released.
