Shelter to remain open through weekend

December 9, 2011 · 8:42 AM

With night time low temperatures expected to remain near or below freezing, the Kitsap County Sever Weather Shelter will remain open though the weekend.

Located at 1600 12th St. in Bremerton, the shelter operates from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – guests must enter the shelter for the night before 9 p.m.

The shelter operates out of the Bremerton Foodline, a public food pantry that provides access to other services, in effort to provide "overnight refuge" for anyone in Kitsap County with no other option  to sleep inside during freezing weather.
