Farm business planning course beginning mid-January

The Washington State University Kitsap County Extension will offer its Ag Entrepreneurship Course on starting and sustaining a profitable small farm or agriculture enterprise beginning Jan. 19.
The cost for the course is $250, which includes materials. The course will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday evenings in room 406 of the Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton.
The course features a variety of local guest speakers including bankers, accountants and successful farm owners. Participants will gain skills in business planning, direct marketing and record keeping. They will also receive information on federal and state programs targeted to the needs of small producers, including resources to improve risk management and conservation practices.
Both beginning farmers and current growers are encouraged to register for the course.
