The rain began Sunday, Oct. 14 and it looks season has started.

The showers began lightly but by midday the  precipitation was heavy. After months without rain some areas received up to 2 inches Sunday. The last measurable rain in Washington before Sunday was July 22.

The National Weather Service is predicting more showers over the weekend.

  • Tonight Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Breezy, with a east wind 14 to 23 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Saturday A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. South southwest wind 11 to 16 mph.
