VALID 12Z MON NOV 19 2012 - 12Z WED NOV 21 2012
...SOAKING RAINS...MOUNTAIN SNOWS...AND HIGH WINDS ARE EXPECTED
ACROSS THE NORTHWESTERN CORNER OF THE COUNTRY...
WET AND SOGGY CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN THE STORY OVER THE
NORTHWESTERN CORNER OF THE COUNTRY AS A CLOSED VORTEX OVER THE
NORTHEAST PACIFIC DROPS SLOWLY SOUTHWARD DURING THE SHORT RANGE
PERIOD. THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION WILL BE ALONG COASTAL REGIONS
FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TO NORTHERN WASHINGTON STATE...WHERE
PIECES OF ENERGY SPINNING AROUND THE VORTEX WILL CONTINUE TO BRING
SURGES OF MOISTURE INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST/NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.
ENOUGH MOISTURE SPILLING INLAND SHOULD ALSO LEAD TO SOME HEAVIER
TOTALS ALONG THE UPSLOPE SIDE OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. THE
MAJORITY OF PRECIPITATION WITH THIS EVENT WILL BE RAIN.
HOWEVER...TEMPERATURES WILL BE LOW ENOUGH TO SUPPORT SNOW OVER
SOME OF THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF THE TERRAIN...AND ACCUMULATIONS IN
EXCESS OF A FOOT ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE WASHINGTON CASCADES. IN
ADDITION...STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE
REGION.
