Powers resigns school board post
June 11, 2008 · Updated 9:15 AM
Central Kitsap School District board member Lee Ann Powers tendered her resignation, effective June 16, at Wednesdays board meeting.
Powers is relocating outside the district and the board reluctantly accepted her letter of resignation.
Powers represents the districts Area 5, which includes Cougar Valley Elementary, Green Mountain Elementary and Klahowya Secondary School.
The board has 90 days from June 16 to appoint a new board member who will serve out the duration of Powers term.
Applications for the vacancy will be open and information on how to obtain one should become available at the next board meeting on May 14, CKSD spokesman David Beil said.
