From KITSAP NEWS Reports

The public is invited to attend the initial meeting of the planning committee to consider the possibility of forming a regional fire authority. The meeting will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Kitsap Readiness Center just off Pendergast at 1211 Carver Street in Bremerton.

The initial meeting between three elected officials from Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue, three from South Kitsap Fire & Rescue and three Bremerton City Council members will review the recently released ESCi Cooperative Services Feasibility Study.

The planning committee will regularly meet to determine whether a strategic alliance and partnership between the Bremerton Fire Department, CKFR and SKFR is not only feasible, but beneficial to the community.

People are encouraged to contact the following fire chiefs with their questions about the regional fire authority:

BFD Chief Al Duke: (360) 473-5380

CKFR Chief Ken Burdette: (360) 447-3550

SKFR Chief Wayne Senter: (360) 871-2411
