Oxford Suites on Bayshore Drive in Silverdale is now scheduled to open in September because of delays.
The Baney Corp. of Bend, Ore. is constructing the hotel which was originally scheduled to open in July. Sandra Butler, Oxford Suites sales manager, is unsure of the reason for the delayed opening.
Im not 100 percent sure what happened, but I believe it was last minute changes that had to be made concerning the property, she said.
The four-story hotel will feature 104 suites, a conference room, board room, exercise room, pool, spa, restaurant and lounge. The hotels facilities will be open to guests only.
Oxford Suites is almost fully staffed, according to Butler. She is planning the grand opening celebration for sometime in October.
Were not really sure yet what were going to do yet, but October is still the date, she said.
Curt Baney, president of the Baney Corp., also owns the Cimarron Hotel on Silverdale Way. The Cimarron recently changed its name to Oxford Inn. Butler serves as the sales manager for both Oxford Suites and Oxford Inn. She previously worked in the hotel industry in Germany and Hawaii with Radisson, Renaissance and Hyatt.
The Baney Corp. has Oxford Suites throughout Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho. The Baney Corp. has been in the hospitality business since 1955 and opened the first two Oxford Suites in 1989.
