Kitsap County Department of Public Works strongly advises drivers to take alternative routes for Bucklin Hill Road next week with signal installments causing potential traffic delays of up to 20 minutes.

The reconstruction of the Bucklin Hill and Mickleberry roads intersection is designed to align the southern approach with the road segment on the northern side of Bucklin Hill Road.

While installing a new signal at the entrance to the Silverdale Plaza, the project also will add a new pedestrian crossing signal and signs at the Clear Creek Trail.

Estimated costs for the project total approximately $719,000, with the construction fee being the largest amount at $665,000.

Construction will continue through the middle of next week, with Thursday beginning pothole work as well, causing additional delays in the area.
