Super Saturday volunteers gearing up
June 11, 2008 · Updated 2:31 PM
Spring time is cleaning time and some 700 Central Kitsap students will hit the streets in May to pick up trash and wash cars in the district-wide Super Saturday volunteer event.
The 10th anniversary of CK Super Saturday is May 6 and will culminate with a barbecue at the Silverdale Waterfront Park. But organizers and students already are preparing for the day-long volunteer-spree.
In the past, CK Super Saturday has been supported by area Rotarians and Kiwanis members, local businesses, school board members, friends and families as well as individual students.
For $25 a contributor buys the right to have his or her name printed on the back of CK Super Saturday 2006 T-shirts. Businesses can purchase T-shirt real estate enough for their logo with a $250 donation.
Contributions are accepted through April 28. Checks, made out to CK Super Saturday, can be mailed to: Olympic High School, Attention: Blanche Saladino, 7070 Stampede Boulevard, Bremerton, WA., 98311.
