Budget, study draft on board’s agenda

By the end of the month, a new demographic study commissioned by the Central Kitsap School District should be completed, but this evening, the school board will have a chance to see a draft of the study.

Bainbridge Island-based Reed Hansen & Associates, is releasing preliminary data to share with the board of directors during a 5 p.m. study session in the board room of the Jenne-Wright Administration Center. The study session also includes a look ahead to budget planning for the 2007-08 school year.

A Distinguished Reader reception will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Jenne-Wright gymnasium for students in the CK Reads program.

A presentation on the preliminary WASL scores released to students this week is included in the agenda for the regular school board meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. The schedule of board meetings for the 2006-07 school year will be established and the new student representative will be introduced to the board.
