EDMONTON (CP) — Edmonton police are looking for a suspect who fled on foot after assaulting a Grade 3 girl in a school bathroom.

The assault happened just after 11:30 in the morning at the Victoria School of Visual and Performing Arts, which is attended by 2,000 students from kindergarten to Grade 12. Police said the girl wasn’t sexually assaulted.

They also said she wouldn’t suffer long-lasting physical harm from the assault.

The man, who police said had no reason to be at the school, was described as between 20 and 30 years of age.

Police said he was waiting in the bathroom when the girl and another female entered.
