Senior volunteers sought

Nearly one in every four seniors across the United States volunteer in their local communities, making a remarkable difference in the lives around them. Yet, too often, these selfless individuals remain unnoticed. To raise awareness and commend these outstanding senior volunteers, Home Instead Senior Care is sponsoring the 2013 Salute to Senior Service award program and wants help identifying deserving seniors. The criteria for nominating includes any adults age 65 or older who volunteer 15-plus hours a month to their favorite cause. Self-nominations are accepted. The nomination period runs through March 31. Online voting is from April 15 to 30. Winners will be announced in May.Prizes include $500 donated each state winner’s cause and $5,000 to the national winner’s cause.To nominate visit www.SalutetoSeniorService.com or mail nominations to “Salute to Senior Service," P.O.
