"A new hotel might be in the works for Silverdale. The county's Department of Community Development sent Notice of Application forms to local business and land owners Aug. 9 announcing the proposed development of a hotel, to be called the Clear Creek Inn, on the southeast corner of Ridgetop Boulevard and Blaine Avenue. The 4.6 acre site is zoned for regional commercial development. Earlier plans had called for a business park (Clear Creek Business Park) that never was built. Young Pak of Bainbridge Island bought the land for $670,000 from Michael and Sharon Koch. Kitsap County bid on the property last month as a possible site for a new community center and library complex. Pak outbid the county, which was limited by statutes governing land acquisition.Design plans for the hotel are not yet complete, but sources said the hotel likely will have 96-100 rooms spread over six stories. The property's proximity to Clear Creek, a salmon-bearing stream, has not been a problem. Tex Lewis of the Clear Creek Task Force said his group is not worried about the project's impact on the stream or the Clear Creek Trail, but he would like to see the hotel's design compliment the creek. We would like to work with the developer on landscaping, Lewis said. We would like to see the trail incorporated into the design.Final approval for the project is pending a technical review, which will take place Aug. 30. It is unknown how much the building will cost and when construction will begin. "
