PFD, county OK funding for parking lot improvements at Fairgrounds

Kitsap Public Facilities District (PFD) unanimously passed a motion on Monday to provide funding for two projects at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.

Kitsap PFD will pool their money with funds from the county for a $400,000 paving project for the parking lot of Gordon Field and $150,000 for 500 seats for the Bluejackets baseball field. PFD will use $350,000 from their $600,000 in new bond revenue. Combined with $200,000 of the county’s money the total price of $550,000 for both projects will be funded between both parties. The 500 seats are in addition to 600 bleacher seats that are already in PFD’s initial budget.

The PFD met with several members of the Fair board to hear their top priorities with the paving of the Gordon Field parking lot being at the top of the list.
