Water management’s role in sub-area plan tops CKCC agenda

Water management plays a vital role in the Silverdale sub-area plan and at tonight’s Central Kitsap Community Council (CKCC) meeting, members will see just how that role comes into play.

Tonight’s CKCC meeting is from 7-9 p.m. in the Water and Fire District community room on Newberry Hill Road.

An update on the Silverdale sub-area plan will be given by Jim Bolger and Angie Silva of the Department of Community Development.

“We will provide an update of the sub-area plan at every (CKCC) meeting,” said CKCC president Hank Mann-Sykes. “If the public wants a monthly update on the sub-area plan they are welcome to attend, (the sub-area plan) will shape Silverdale.”

Rick Gagnon, senior program manager of waste water management at Kitsap County Public Works, will be discussing waste water management and its role in the sub-area plan.

Following Gagnon’s presentation is Morgan Johnson, general manager of the Silverdale Water District (SWD). He will talk about how SWD affects the sub-area plan and will discuss infrastructure and plans for expansion.

Also being presented at tonight’s meeting is a presentation on the final design of the SR 3/SR 303 interchange by John Brand, assistant public works director of Kitsap County Public Works.
