As the Central Kitsap High School graduating class of 2005 marched into the Kitsap Pavilion on Thursday night to the Cougar Band playing “Pomp and Circumstance,” there was one prevailing fear in the sea of mortarboard.

“I’m nervous. I’m going to trip,” said graduate Arin Beatty, giving the concern a voice. Beatty, who was wearing spiked heels, did not trip.
