Due to the lack of new homes available on the market, The Home Builders Association of Kitsap County has cancelled this years Parade of Homes.
The annual event, which was scheduled for Aug. 6-7, was started in the early 1980s to provide the public an opportunity to tour new and remodeled homes and meet builders, according to Art Castle, executive vice president of The Home Builders Association of Kitsap County.
The Parade of Homes not only allows the public to meet builders, but gives the public the opportunity to see builders work first-hand. Those touring remodeled and custom homes can speak face-to-face with the customer. Each year, 20 to 23 new homes are showcased.
