As of Tuesday, Christine Bolinger is a hungry commuter’s best friend.

Bolinger, who has been the director of the Central Kitsap Food Bank for the last five years, has resigned her position with the food bank to go to work for Olympic Cascade Services as an office manager.

She was offered the job three weeks ago and decided to take it two weeks ago.

Her new office is at the Seattle ferry terminal.

“I get to ride the beautiful boat for an hour both ways,” she said. “I love being on the water.”

Olympic Cascade Services is the company that has been contracted to bring food back to the Washington State Ferries.

Joe Cargile, the CK Food Bank warehouse manager, will be taking over as the interim director.
