Police round up deadbeat dads, mom

In an agency-wide wide sweep last Sunday, law enforcement was out to find those owing child support.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with several other agencies in an attempt to find and arrest those parents with outstanding civil contempt of court warrants who had failed to appear in court concerning failure to pay child support.

The warrant detail, which had been planned about two months ago, was done after a request by the state Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office. There were 85 moms and dads on the list with outstanding warrants for their arrest.
