County wants control of Silverdale's veterans memorial

In response to vandalism of the Kitsap County Veterans Memorial and its use as part of the Whaling Days beer garden, the county is examining how to better tend to the site.

Kitsap County Commissioner Patty Lent recently announced her decision to make a proposal on Sept. 14 to the Board of Commissioners to incorporate the Old Town Silverdale memorial into the county’s public park system.
