Lent sticking with GOP

PORT ORCHARD Commissioner Patty Lent, who faces an aggressive primary challenge from Silverdale resident Jack Hamilton, has restated her intention to run as a Republican for the Central Kitsap post.
Rumors that she would file for the office as a Democrat have resurfaced in recent weeks, forcing her to repeatedly address the topic.
If Lent wins the primary, she will presumably face Democrat Josh Brown in the general election. If she loses, she is prohibited from running as a third party candidate but would be able to receive write-in votes.
Some Republicans have complained about Lents voting record, saying she has abandoned the property rights platform on which she originally ran for office.
Party pressure was allegedly responsible for Lent reversing her 2003 vote about impact fees. She also received significant criticism from former supporters due to her voting to pass the recent Critical
