Loopless in Silverdale: Interchanges first closure announced
June 11, 2008 · Updated 2:38 PM
The loop connecting southbound State Route 3 to eastbound SR 303 will be taken out of circulation June 1.
Kent-based contractor Scarsella Bros., Inc. has scheduled a traffic revision for Thursday when between midnight and 5:30 a.m. crews will close down the loop-ramp. Drivers taking the Silverdale/East Bremerton exit off southbound SR 3 will only be able to continue on straight to the intersection.
A new, temporary, free right-turn lane will be in place for motorists to turn on to Clear Creek Road and from there turn right on to Waaga Way (SR 303) toward East Bremerton.
Eventually the loop-ramp between the two highways will be destroyed as will that Silverdale exit to make way for a retention pond. A new system of ramps will connect SR 3 to SR 303 when the project is completed in fall 2007.
