CK Schools to host forums on redistricting

March 19, 2013 · 9:31 AM

Central Kitsap School District will host three community forums to discuss declining enrollment and school reconfiguration. The forums will take place Thursday April 11 at Klahowya, Monday April 15 at CKHS and Tuesday April 16 at Olympic.

All three forums are scheduled to run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Current school configuration in Central Kitsap School District is K-6 in elementary, 7-9 in junior high and 10-12 in high school. Klahowya, however, is currently 7-12. In light of declining enrollment, the district has been reviewing the possibility of moving 9th graders to Central Kitsap and Olympic High Schools.

According to the district, the forums will be structured to answer questions and to seek input and suggestions.
