CKFR Engine 41 involved in accident

At approximately 7 p.m. Monday, Engine 41 with Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Fairgrounds Road between Hwy 303 and Old Military, according to Ileana LiMarzi, public information officer for Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.

The collision also involved a civilian vehicle, LiMarzi said. The driver of that vehicle had to be extricated by additional CKFR crews and was transported to a local hospital.

CKFR firefighters are uninjured and Engine 41 is currently damaged and partially in a ditch.
Engine 41 works out of Station 41 located on Old Military Road. Crews were returning to quarters and were not running with lights and sirens at the time.

Washington State Patrol and the Kitsap County Sheriffs Office are on scene to conduct the accident investigation.
