CKSD seeks volunteers for Finance Committee
August 29, 2008 · Updated 3:38 PM
The Central Kitsap School District (CKSD) is currently seeking volunteers to fill several community member vacancies on its Community Finance Committee.
Appointed by the board of directors, the committee links the district to the community. Committee members will study the district’s financial affairs and advise the school board, learning the district’s priorities while making an impact on the decisions made.
“As we look ahead our challenge is to focus our resources in the right places,” said David McVicker, CKSD executive director of business and operations. “The willingness of volunteers to participate and provide feedback is appreciated as we shape the future of our schools and advance our mission of all students learning well.”
Community members are encouraged to contact the Community Relations Office at (360) 662-1620 for application materials. Those materials include a copy of Board Policy 1240, providing information on the guiding principles, responsibilities and operating procedures of the committee.
For guaranteed consideration, CKSD requests that applications be returned by Sept. 12.
