Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue (CKFR) cancelled all upcoming Santa runs through CK communities due to the inclement weather.

“We are concerned with the safety of all residents during this cold snap and want to avoid the possiblity of young children and their families slipping on ice as they run to greet Santa on the fire engine,” CKFR spokeswoman Theresa MacLennan said. “We are saddened about not being able to participate in the Santa run tradition this year, but look forward to better weather conditions for the runs next year.”

CKFR firefighters collect nonperishable food donations for the CK Food Bank during Santa runs, but since the runs are cancelled, donations may be made directly to the food bank located at 3790 NW Anderson Hill Road in Silverdale.
